Xbox 360 Slim
Microsoft have followed in Sony’s footsteps and created a newer slimline version of their hit console the Xbox 360.
Boasting impressive graphics, amazing online play with a gold membership on Xbox Live, and the great ability to stream media content from your home PC.
The new Xbox 360 Slim has a modern touch on-off and eject buttons, and built in 802.11n Wi-Fi. There are ports for AV, HDMI, ethernet, optical audio and a custom port for Microsoft Kinect, the great new motion detector adapter for motion gameplay. The console also has an amazing five USB port connections.
The power supply provided with the console is also a lot smaller, and the console itself is “whisper quiet”. This is because Microsoft have provided the console with just one fan rather than two and is specially placed to improve acoustics. When you turn on the console, it makes a cute chime sound, however the disk drive still makes exactly the same amount of noise as the previous versions of the console.
The console is provided with a 250GB hardrive and they have supplied a little tab at the bottom of the console to allow you to change the hardrive.
The facility to transfer your data is now included with the built in transfer software, so all you have to do is plug one cable into the system, and one end into the hardrive. The transfer doesn’t require a disk unlike the previous versions.
The new case for the Xbox 360 Slim is black, glossy, slimmer and thinner than the previous Xbox 360 consoles.
The console is supplied with one wireless controller, and all accessories are black to match the console’s colour.
The console itself is lighter than the previous versions, not that you will be moving it around a lot!
The console does come with a hefty price tag of A200.00, but why not get one for a lot cheaper at Free Xbox 360 Slim:
